Former WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (47-2-2, 26 KO’s) is will fight unbeaten Darren Barker (23-0, 14 KO’s) from the UK on October 1, 2011 at Boardwalk Hall Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Martinez recently defeated Sergiy Dzinziruk by an 8th round stoppage in March, while Barker defeated Domenica Spada in April to capture the vacant European Boxing Union (EBU) middleweight title. Barker has superb boxing skills and maybe even better than Cotto and Chavez Jr. in regards to talent.
